Black Poison - A Poem About Drug Abuse
68A Fate So Sadly "Crystallized"
Piercing memories of faded lives
Erodes your mind through Sleepless Nights
Black poison flows through clouds of smoke
To Satiate and bleed your soul
What sense is left for you to make
How can you from this hell, escape
All foolish thoughts dance scantily
Of life someday from this drug freed
A fairytale you just can't write
The Poison wraps your Hands too tight
All that remains of your spent life
Are pleasures false, diluted lies
A fate so sadly crystallized

So many of us are affected by drug abuse, either directly or indirectly. Almost 25% of deaths in America can be attributed to drug abuse. Crystal Meth has become an epidemic across the globe. I've seen first hand the downward spiral affect it has on your life as well as the toll it takes on your health. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who have fallen victim to this horrible affliction.

Beautiful and yet so sad is the reality.
Thanks for SHARING.
Great poem about a scourge of the world.
I was hooked on Cocaine for many years and face a continual day to day battle to stay clean.
Faced many "sleepless nights" and "false pleasures" but with the Lords help I will keep on going.
The ending to your piece says it all--diluted lies--great write!
